About The Thing Of The Moment

This page serves as the front porch of The Thing of the Moment, a multi-platform photographic project that started in 2004 as a way to share Christmas photos with family and turned into a project that later evolved to include US Presidents, Governors, thousands of concert goers, hundreds of charity event attendees, people at work, a 10-season project with carnies, documenting Maine’s Ice Age Trail, and trips with my Dad.

The "Thing" of the Moment refers to the act of taking photos and posting them online, and never the subject being photographed. The name comes from a derisive comment from a friend who, when taking notice of another newfound and soon-to-be-passing interest of which she had seen many, “Is this the thing of the moment?”  It is, and has remained so for almost 20 years.

The Thing of the Moment would have passed years ago if not for the interest, kindness, and cooperation of all of you who inspire and motivate me to keep at it.  Thank you.
